Where have I been?

Where have I been?

Welcome Back to my blog!

As you can all tell its been 2 months since I have written a blog post but I have a reasonable explanation for it. This post is going to be relatively short so it wont take a bunch of time to comprehend. Basically my exams to get into college start on Wednesday (yawn) and I have been flat out studying. I need a heap load of points (around 400) to get my course and i am stressing to say the least. Since my last post ive gone through 2 orals, and 3 exams going towards parts of my leaving cert. My exams are spread out nicely so I should be back writing more frequently in about a week or two! Thank you for your patience!

Thanks for reading!

How To Contour&Highlight For Your Own Face Shape.

How To Contour&Highlight For Your Own Face Shape.

Welcome Back to my blog!

Its been almost a month since my last post which i'm very sorry about! I've legit just been so sick and haven't got round to writing up something but i've finally got the chance to! I hope that this helps for the people that struggle with contour&highlighting or feel that the way that they're doing it isn't making a difference for them. If you want to know how to contour for your own face shape then continue reading below!

Before you start your highlighting and contouring, you need to figure out your face shape.  To determine your face shape,  pull all of your hair back tightly (just throw it in a pony) and look at your features. A measuring tape may be used to measure the length and width of the face for a more precise determination.

OVAL: Oval-shaped faces have a length equal to 1.5 times the width of the face, with forehead and jaw equal widths. Celebrity example: Blake Lively.
RECTANGULAR: Rectangular faces are longer than the width of the face and have strong angles on the forehead and at the jawline. Celebrity example: Ed Westwick
ROUND: Round faces are as wide as they are long, but with rounded edges. (duh) Celebrity example: Emma Stone
HEART-SHAPED: Heart-shaped faces have the most width at the cheek, eye, and forehead areas, with a narrow to pointy chin.  Sometimes they will also have a larger forehead. Celebrity example: Scarlett Johansson
OBLONG: Oblong faces are as long as it is wide.
Celebrity example: Angelina Jolie
DIAMOND-SHAPED: Diamond-shaped faces are characterized by a narrow forehead and a narrow chin with the widest point at the cheeks.
Celebrity example: Reese Witherspoon
TRIANGULAR (and INVERTED TRIANGULAR): Triangular faces are wide at the forehead and narrowest at the jawline; inverted triangular faces are widest at the jawline and narrowest at the forehead.
Celebrity example: Tyra Banks.

If you're still confused about your face shape you can try work it out with the chart below.

Once you've figured this out you can move onto the highlight/contouring process.

Oval

Oblong

Rectangle

Heart

Diamond

Triangle

Square
Round

I hope these charts help you! If you have any questions feel free to comment below!!

What Am I Listening To?

What Am I Listening To?

Welcome back to my blog!

So, I was just chilling in my room flicking through facebook whilst listening to music on spotify, I got a little sick of all the adverts (I hate you Spotify and all your ad's, wasting a minute of ma life) so I decided that I'd listen to the music on my phone. It's honestly been ages since I've actually listened to the songs on my phone because I've been using Spotify so much but I have actually only put new songs on there so I thought i'd have a lil' boogie.

I enjoyed my boogie and listening to my old songs (that I' forgot even existed) so I thought that I'd share them on my blog. I've 336 songs in my music library and it'd take way to list what the 336 songs are, not that anyone would even care, so I'm just going to set my music on shuffle and list off the first 15 songs that play.

  1. Thats How You Know by Nico&Vinz feat Bebe Rexha & Kid Ink.
  2. Touch the Sky by Kanye West.
  3. Rich Girl by Gwen Stefani feat Eve.
  4. Viva La Vida by Coldplay.
  5. Signs by Snoop Dogg feat Justin Timberlake
  6. Magic by Coldplay
  7. Checkin' It Out by Lil Chris.
  8. Lose My Breath by Destiny's Child
  9. Shut Up by Black Eyed Peas
  10. Breathe by Blu Cantrell feat Sean Paul
  11. Princess of China by Coldplay feat Rihanna.
  12. This Is How We Do It by Montell Jordan
  13. Come On Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners.
  14. Zealots of Stockholm by Childish Gambino.
  15. You Got The Love by The xx.

ASOS Order | Review

ASOS Order | Review

Welcome back to my blog!

This is kind of a weird post but with the experience I have had with this company throughout the past month made me want to express my views and share what happened.
Firstly, My mam was the person who had ordered something off the site. I had been looking for a pair of red lace-up heels for a while now. I literally hunted since after Christmas but could never find anything (you know when you have an outfit idea in your head and you just have to go through with it??? yeah this was one of these things) Anyway, I recently sat exams and my mam had found a pair online so she bought me them as a little present for me because I was majorly stressed. (cutie
This photo is owned by ASOS.

So these are the shoes that were purchased. My mam placed the order on the 1st of this month, So the first of February. My mam paid for the delivery option of '3-4 working days' so you could say I expected these to come about a week later? Nope. They only came yesterday. 25 days later. You could say I was annoyed as my friends birthday was last week and I was planning on wearing them. The frustration was real having to pick out a new outfit (girls you understand).

The feels.

Then, when I opened them, they weren't red. They were more of a burgundy shade, some people will say 'but that is red why are you complaining', but if you saw them they are more on the purple side of life rather than red, Which is NOT how they looked like on the website as you can clearly see above. I am going to wear them though as I do like them its just not what was advertised.

So overall I was unhappy with this service, even when my mam had emailed the company about the delivery they were so unhelpful and continuously asked irrelevant questions after she spent 50/60 euro with this company. I cant see myself buying anything off ASOS again and if you are going to look up the item itself and see what it looks like on someone else just to be 100% certain.

This was more of a rant than anything else but hey you got some helpful info!

Provocalips Vs. Matte Me

Rimmel's "Provocalips" Vs. Sleek's "Matte Me"

Welcome back to my blog!

I'm an absolute sucker for a good red lippy, so I thought i'd do a lil' versus post on these two babies. They're both matte*' (that being the craze lately) and verrrrry affordable! Last year I was ride or die when it came to matte lipsticks. I think the only lipsticks I purchased last year were a matte finish or a liquid lip, but this year i'm kinda not feelin' it anymore, I think over time my facial features have changed and some matte lips can make me a total drag queen. Not cute. At all. So it kind of threw me off but i'm sure when we hit Autumn/Fall again i'm probably gonna like them.

Rimmel Provocalips in 'Play with Fire'

I only found out about this bad boy in the beginning of January. Needless to say I am in looooove!  You get 16 hours wear out of one application and is "kiss proof'' (Haven't tried it out on that behalf..yet) The colour is absolutely perfect! I bought the shade 'Play with Fire'. (Kinda reminds me of that N-Dubz song, anyone else remember it? No? Just me? Ok.) It has the lip colour in one end and the other end has a gloss. There are two steps to the application. Step 1. You put the colour on first. Let it dry from around 30 - 60 seconds and you have a complete matte finish. Step 2 in my opinion is optional, You can then apply the gloss and it will lock the colour in place more, I don't really see a difference in longevity with or without the gloss. I really like to use the gloss part with it because that's the bangwagon i'm on right now. (glossy lips ftw). This product is not drying at all and really does last all day. Even after 2 meals and drinking water it does not budge. It comes in 6 or 7 other shades and they're all very pretty. I must get around to buying them all when I gots some dolla, Speaking of money this product only costs 8.99e (still cant figure out how to do a euro sign on my keyboard sorry guys). Which is honestly unreal.

My ratings for this product are:

Price:   8/10
Colour Pay-off:  9/10
Formula: 9/10
Longevity: 10/10

Total: 36/40

How I feel when wearing it:

Next I have Sleeks Matte Me:

Sleek "Matte Me" in 'Rioja Red'
I first heard about Sleek this time last year.A Matte Me liquid lip was the first matte lipstick I purchased but it was in the shade 'Birthday Suit' which is a nude colour, which could be used as a dupe for Kylie Jenners 'Posie K', but that not what this is about. I really liked the Matte Me's before I had anything to compare them with. After buying more and more from different brands I realised how much I don't like them. I must admit their colours are beautiful. Along with Rioja Red, I own 'Birthday Suit' and 'Party Pink'. Rioja Red(I have no idea how to pronounce that name) is a really gorgeous dark red colour, but when you're applying it you have to do it very fast as it can leave lines that are a darker shade than the colour if the lip isnt covered by one stroke. Which is kind of hard to do as applying liquid lipsticks is very tricky. Another problem is it is so drying. Its ridiculous. My lips literally feel like the Sahara desert after. It becomes very flakey and will fall off soon enough after application. It does not stay on at all, after eating, drinking anything. Oh and so you know, it ain't kiss proof, just throwing that out there so you dont end up looking like the joker on a night out.  The packaging is really cute though I must give it that. I really do wish these were good because they only cost 6.49e ;(

My ratings for this product are:

Price:   8/10
Colour Pay-off:  7/10 (because of them streak marks)
Formula: 4/10
Longevity: 3/10

Total: 22/40

How I feel when wearing it:

There you have it! Provocalips trumps Matte Me!
(No promotion for Donald Trump here, I'm not an idiot)
Let me know in the comments below if you want more posts like this! :)

Morphe 35O Palette Review.

Morphe 35O Palette | Review.

Welcome back to my blog!
For anyone reading this as a follow up to my last post, my cheese toastie was bomb.
Today I'm going to be reviewing the Morphe 35O Palette. I received this at Christmas as a present and I'm one of the lucky ones that got one before they sold out! (which they tend to do a lot). The palette has 35 shades, hense the '35' in '35O' duh Cass. The palette is warm toned which I think suits every eye colour. I personally only like to wear warm tones on my eyes as I feel like cool tones wash my blue eyes out.

I honestly think this palette is absolutely stunning, there is soooo many different eye looks you can do, I love the variety of matte and shimmer shadows. I have almond shaped eyes so matte shadows are just a blessing for me. If you look at this palette and think 'woah theres some really nice brown tones in there' and are thinking of buying it because you want a variety of solid brown shades I wouldn’t suggest this palette to you. A lot of the brown shades in here have an orange undertone to them so when they're applied to the eyes you have more of a bronzy look than a smoky brown. I have some swatches below of some of the orange tone browns just so you get the gistAlso if you wanted to look at other swatches that I haven't done just look up 'Morphe 35O swatches' you will literally find them all.

The quality of these shadows for the price is just amazing! It only costs around 22 euro ( I can't figure out how to do a euro sign on my keyboard (but in saying that why is there no euro sign on a key board in the first place like cmon )) The shadows are really creamy and blend like a dream. The only problem I have is that the first time I opened t the shadow on the bottom right corner was out of its little shell thingy, did i really just refer to the thing the shadow sits in a 'shell thingy' ? yes, yes I did. So now ive to be careful everytime I open it incase it pulls a jack in the box and unexpectedly pops out.

Alsooooo in a couple of months Morphe are releasing this palette as 2 new palettes. Same shadows, just one palette completely matte and one palette completely shimmer. Heaven on earth right?

So thats pretty much it. Overall this palette is my favourite. Perfect for day time and night time wear. My go to palette for pretty much everything. And no *this post is not sponsored by Morphe Brushes*

Starting Out.

Starting Out.

Welcome to my first blog post!

Before I start I would just like to say I am not one of those 'tumblr' blog girls. Not trying to bash anyone (you do what you're into girl) its just not who I am.

Anyways, I'm Cass. I've a verrrrry strong interest in Fashion,Beauty and Makeup (what girl doesn't nowadays). I do not have qualifications and I am not a 'MUA' at all, makeup is just a hobby for me. My blog will consist of Makeup Reviews, Tutorials, DIY's (for all the people that ain't got a job and have to work with what they got).  Maybe the occasional advice pieces or my personal favorites.

I don't really have that much more to talk about as this post was only planned to be a short one! and I am s t a r v i n g right now so i'm gonna make some grilled cheese and possibly some tea.
